Our annual Gala Ball is back on Saturday 8 August, once again generously hosted in the Public Trust Hall by our good friends at Star Group. Our Renaissance “Waits Band” of cornetto, shawms, sackbuts, strings, percussion and singers will provide the setting for another fun evening of musicking, socialising and, of course, dancing.
We’re delighted to announce that this year’s Dancing Masters will be Katherine Davies and David Robb–scholars, teachers and expert practitioners of Renaissance dancing. Come along and learn some new steps, or just sit back and be dazzled by their fancy footwork!
The doors open at 7pm, with music and dancing from 7:30pm. There will be light refreshments provided, and more food and drink available to purchase. The recommended ticket price is $60, but you can choose any amount from $30 🙂 . As always at our balls, historical costume is not required, but very welcome!
